Synchronize! can help you distribute files to remote sites with a modem and AppleTalk Remote Access.
Keeping a set of files up-to-date in remote locations can be a time-consuming chore. With Synchronize!, those files can be automatically brought up to date.
To synchronize a remote folder:
1. Make a connection to the remote server.
2. Choose the folder on the remote server that you want to keep up-to-date. Once you've selected the server, Synchronize! will remember how to connect to that server automatically.
3. Select the folder that will be the master folder. Check the "Master" check box under that folder.
4. Check the "Delete files and folders not in the master folder" box.
5. Use the "Auto-Connect" option to set the passwords for AppleTalk Remote Access, and your server.
6. Use "Completion Options" from the Options menu to unmount the file server disk and disconnect AppleTalk Remote Access.
7. Save the settings document. Whenever you start the
synchronization, the connection will be made automatically.
If you want the synchronization to be done periodically, choose "Start Options" in the Options menu. Check the "Start synchronization on" box and set the time of the next synchronization, and how often you want it to be done.
